Mounted and Unmounted Staghorn Ferns for Sale

They can live for decades and can be divided and handed down for many years. They are tropical plants and are rare here in the Northwest, but we have been very successful growing them here. Their leaves resemble the antlers of elk or deer. They are unusual plants with their shapes and growth habits. Buy one now for that plant lover you know or treat yourself. The special Staghorn or Elkhorn fern is just the right gift for Mother's Day.

Our Staghorn Nursery is a small family nursery, I take great joy and pride in the care, mounting, sale and shipping of my staghorn ferns. I want to share my success, enthusiasm and knowledge for this beautiful plant with others. The climate is much cooler here in Oregon but we have been very successful growing these unique tropical plants.

I put a lot of thought and care in mounting my Staghorns to interesting rough cut natural pieces of wood that enhance their beauty. These are not just flat pieces of lumber. Unmounted divisions (or starts) that are mature enough to grow and multiply, are also available. We ship them with moss for mounting, you can place them in a hanging container or pot.

I show our mounted and unmounted Staghorns by appointment, email or phone. Email us at LindaTooWearne@gmail.com or call 503-709-7672. Stroll through our newly updated Mounted Staghorn Gallery to see some of the wonderful plants we have available.

Most staghorns are easy to grow. In general, they like bright patio light but not direct sunlight. They grow well as house plants. Water them thoroughly with a hose and then let them dry out. They don't like to be sopping wet or bone dry for extended periods of time. Adjust the amount of watering for hotter, colder, and drier climactic conditions. Put the plants in doors when temperatures go down below 40°F.

 Light:Moderate to bright.
Water:Thorough, moist, with short dry out period.
 Temp:Moderate, between 40 and 100 degrees.
Fertilizer:I use diluted (half strength) liquid fish fertilizer once or twice a month. I make sure the plants are well watered before using fertilizer.
